Stand Up Desk. Win or fail?

Decided to try out this “stand up” desk madness. After the inspiration of @christiekoehler and some great articles like this one from Mashable – I decided to pull the trigger on trying to stand up all day (well most of the day).

Since I’m up at about 6’3″, it’s quite the height to form a 90degree angle with my arms and a table. With the help of Ikea’s FREDRIK I can get that high, it’s just not as solid as I would hope. I won’t lie, it’s straight-up wobbly – but I can deal…my life is wobbly.

Day 1 has been a breeze, but I’m sure my back will be sore tomorrow. I’ll let you know what happens. Anyone else ever done this?

And yes, I do practice kick-flips while coding.

    I think it is a good idea. Lesser of 2 evils right? Standing all day can suck, sitting all day can suck.

    Any update on the stand up desk? I’m about your height and build, and transitioning from being a nurse to an office worker hasn’t been great for my back or weight, so I’m very interested to hear how your experiment turned out.
